We came to our church after a weekend retreat late at night and saw rainwater flooding our carpeted lobby. From the moment the call was placed, he was there within an hour. He left fans and dehumidifiers there and for us to dry it all up and gave us some feedback on how to make sure the Walls were good. He checked the walls with a moisture meter. He went above and beyond! We are thankful for his service.

John was nothing but professional and prompt. Most companies you have to wait for answers and responses for days, if not weeks. With John and his team, it was the exact opposite. Prompt, professional, and polite is how I would describe John.
It’s refreshing to have a company that cares about their customers for a change.
They came in and did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would do it.
Extremely easy and smooth experience.Read more
We Work With Most Insurance
Companies, Including
- Rust and Corrosion: Flooding of basements often occurs when one of the tank’s fittings becomes rusted, damaged, or corroded. It causes a leak in the water heater and results in a risk of flooding.
- A Malfunctioned Thermostat: A malfunctioning thermostat is one of the most common causes of a water heater burst. It cannot measure the exact temperature of the water and leads to the building up of internal pressure that bursts the tank and floods your basement.

Small Problems, Big Problems
A leakage problem can brutally damage the structure of your house. Some of the reasons why leakage occurs are:
- Drain valve
- An old tank
- Too much pressure
- Inlet and outlet connections
- Cracked storage tank
- Anode rod
- Sediment collection
- Internal tank
However, it is not necessary that a leak may flood your basement or garage, but it can cause a surprising amount of damage to the wood and drywall of your house. So, if the leak appears to be coming from the top or bottom of your tank, this could be a warning sign that your water heater connections are loose. Count on Flood Kings to replace your water heater on time with the right tools. We first check the inlet and outlet and make plans according to the damage. We suck out the standing water and completely dry your garage or basement floor as before.
The temperature and pressure relief valves are located on the sides of the heater below the outlets and inlets and work to reduce pressure buildup in your water heater tank. They automatically turn off whenever they sense dangerous levels of pressure. The valve can leak too, and if it opens due to failure, it can create a full blast of water and cause flooding.
However, before a small leak can turn into a major gusher, contact Flood Kings to replace your water heater and restore your place by repairing the damage. We also provide quick routine maintenance that can help you deal with the potential risks of water heater flooding.
The relief valve reduces the pressure in the water tank, but sometimes it fails even in the closed position, creating too much pressure and bursting the tank, releasing more than 40 gallons of water at once. This can fill a ten-by-ten-foot room up to 1/2 inch deep. Such a sudden breakdown requires an emergency service call, which could be particularly expensive. But not at Flood Kings. Our services are quite affordable. We use powerful pressure vacuums and squeegee devices to extract every drop of the standing water, leaving your space completely dry.
Preventing Water Heaters Flooding (Devices)
Drain Pan
Usage of a drain pan is a pretty straightforward measure. All you have to do to drain the water heater is move it to set the drain pan below it. The drain pan is attached to a rubber pipe, which is connected to a drain pipe through a hole. It works when the water heater starts leaking and drains the water directly down the drain pan and drain pipes. However, if the leak is too big, the drain pan won’t be enough.
Shut-off Valve
The shut-off valve works by turning off the main line of water in appliances such as a water heater or even in the main water pipe. It automatically shuts off the valve located on the side of heaters below the outlets and inlets and rings an alarm as soon as the water leaks are detected. It is one of the best ways of preventing flooding, as well as the most effective one.
Water Alarms
Leak alerts such as water alarms are excellent ways to avoid flooding and damage. It not only turns on the alarm ring at 105 dB when a leak or minimal flooding is detected but also sends a message immediately to the homeowner’s cell phone with its WiFi connection feature. Most alarms are very loud these days and quickly help prevent flooding when needed.
Timers
Flood prevention devices such as timers allow users to set a time and schedule for switching off after turning on the water heater. These devices are easy to use, incredibly reliable, and long-lasting. They work at 40 AMPs and 240 V and can be used with the biggest and most powerful water heaters without any issues.
Smart Controllers
Smart controllers are everything you need when thinking of preventing flooding and malfunctions of other appliances. They are easy to use and install and deliver a very effective flooding alert in most circumstances. They allow users to change the temperature of the device and detect leakage. You can also schedule the device activity with a simple cell phone app and a stable Wi-Fi connection.
